How does it work?

Hightide Holidays has negotiated excellent rates with more than 200 resort properties throughout Australia and New Zealand.

To access the great deals, a customer needs one of our Accommodation Vouchers, which can be purchased individually as a VIP Holiday Club Voucher, or as part of a VIP Holiday Club Membership.

Most of the deals we have negotiated are for a 3 night stay. The rates shown are for the apartment and up to its stated bedding capacity. An enquiry direct to the resort(s) or through our customer HelpLine will check the Hightide allotment and availability. The voucher enables a booking to be made. Payment to the resort is usually in two parts: at the time of booking (often$100) and the balance, together with the surrendered voucher, at check-in.

Hightide products & benefits
To access any of the fabulous Hightide deals, you will generally need one of our Accommodation Vouchers. These can be purchased from one of our holiday consultants, from a HelpLine consultant or on-line.

VIP Holiday Club Voucher
is for a single holiday deal, usually 3 days in duration. The Voucher will be posted to you after purchase, although a resort booking requires only the Voucher Number. The Voucher is to be surrendered to the resort at check-in to ensure the deal rates. A specific Voucher will be printed for a particular resort, showing the full terms and conditions of the offer, the booking fee and balance to be paid to the resort and the expiry date of the offer.

VIP Holiday Club Membership
is suited to regular holiday takers. It comprises the Membership and booklet and a quantity of numbered, non-specific Vouchers and Global Vouchers, depending on the Membership chosen. Each Voucher is for a single holiday deal, usually 3 days in duration. The Membership Pack will be posted to you after purchase, although a resort booking requires only the Voucher Number. The Voucher is to be surrendered to the resort at check-in to ensure the deal rates. Each Voucher is valid indefinitely, they are said to never expire.

How do I book my holiday?
There are 5 simple steps:

1. Choose a Resort from our website at www.hightide.com.au or your Members Guide (if you are a Member)

2. Check allotment / availability by calling the Hightide Members HelpLine on 1300 769 765 or emailing helpline@hightide.com.au, the resort phone number listed on the Voucher or in the Members Guide or by calling When calling the resort, ensure you identify yourself as a Hightide customer.

3. Secure a reservation by quoting your Voucher number and confirm your rate, deposit and final payment details.

4. Prepare for your break.
Get excited and remember to pack your Voucher so it can be redeemed at check-in.

5. Leave a Review.
Tell Hightide, tell the resort and tell other holiday makers about your experience. Hopefully good, but we want to know about warts! And go into the draw for a free holiday as a thankyou.

How many vouchers can I use at one time?

Each Voucher, generally, can be used for a 3 night stay, as stated on our website. Many resorts will allow multiple bookings, using vouchers back-to-back. Where the symbol is shown, the resort encourages back-to-back usage, by rewarding the Hightide customer with the 7th night free, when two vouchers are used.

Longer stays can sometimes be accommodated, say 10 days or 2 weeks. Enquire of the resort or contact the Hightide HelpLine.

Availability, Allocations & Exclusions
Offers shown on this site or various Hightide publications are valid to the date listed in the individual listing. New VIP rates are published each March/April and listed on the website. Most resorts will accept forward bookings past the valid date at the current VIP rate until their new rates are published. For the most up-to-date rates and Specials check www.hightide.com.au or call the HelpLine on 1300 769 765. Reservations at resorts are always subject to room allocation and availability. This means that while some resorts may have rooms vacant and available for dates you require, they may not be available at our specially negotiated promotional price. Many resorts set aside an allotment for Hightide and are not able to accept more bookings once the allotment has been filled. Remember, as with all resorts, accommodation is subject to availability. Plan your holiday and book well in advance to ensure your preferences.

Can I use my vouchers over School Holidays?
Several years ago, most resorts restricted our Vouchers to all non-School Holiday periods (off-peak).

Are my vouchers transferable?
Vouchers are fully transferable and make an excellent gift to family or friends or as customer or employee rewards. Additional gift wallets can be provided on request. Vouchers are non-refundable if lost or unused.

Can I replace lost or expired vouchers?

VIP Holiday Club Vouchers generally have a printed expiry (usually 12 months from purchase). If returned to Hightide, prior to expiry, and with a stamped self addressed envelope, they will be replaced free of charge with a current promotion. Please include a short note advising which promotion is required. If the Voucher has expired or been lost, an administration charge of $10 needs to be included.

VIP Holiday Club Membership Vouchers
(not resort specific, and included as part of a VIP Club membership) remain valid until used. If lost or damaged, contact HelpLine to arrange for them to be re-issued. This is a free service during the currency of your Membership. A charge of $10 per Voucher will apply for replacement outside of Membership.

Global Holiday Program Vouchers,
if received as part of a VIP Club Membership can be replaced by contacting HelpLine to arrange for them to be re-issued. This is a free service during the currency of your Membership. A charge of $10 per Voucher will apply for replacement outside of Membership.

How do I pay?

When you purchase a VIP Holiday Club Voucher, Membership or Global Holiday Voucher, you can pay by credit card (all major cards accepted) or by cheque or money order. When you pay Hightide by quoting your credit card number over the telephone, we are flattered by your trust and conscious of our security responsibility to you. Once the card has been processed, we delete the number to prevent further access. We do however retain the first 6 and last 3 numbers (our bank advises us that this method is both unique and secure it is virtually impossible to guess the missing 7 digits) to prevent errors or fraud. When you pay by credit card over our website, the payment is actually made directly with our bank, St George, via their fully secure link. Your credit card details are not provided to Hightide.

Star Ratings
The STAR ratings are supplied by the property and are attributed by a third party AAA Tourism. Details of how these ratings are determined are available at AAATourism. Some resorts provide indicative self-rating to assist comparison. Where there is no rating, the property is either yet to be rated or has chosen not to be rated. Hightide cannot take responsibility for accuracy of ratings provided.

If you are a customer of Hightide (or previously Discount Package Holidays) or have been contacted by us over the past several years, it is likely that some limited contact details are stored in our database.

If you wish to be placed on the Hightide Holidays "do not contact" list, please email your your details to privacy@hightide.com.au and request to not be contacted by Hightide.

Please note, this will not place you on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Will you contact me if I'm on the national do Not Call Registry?
Hightide and the Do Not Call Register

Hightide has complied with the DNC legislation from its inception and with the direct marketing industry standard in its current and former ADMA specific forms prior to that.

Less than 10% of Hightide business arises from cold-calling activity with the remainder coming from our 110,000+ existing Membership base and referrals.

Existing Members are deemed to have an existing business relationship and thus are exempt from the legislation for 12 months or for a short period after using a specific voucher/offer. It is a stated benefit and feature of the Membership package that they will be contacted for customer service purposes to assist them with their membership during this period.

Those Members who have passed this period without activity and have registered on the DNCR are only contacted if they have supplied express consent which is recorded on their Membership record.

Our consultants are well trained professionals and have been trained in the relevant aspects of legislation and standards in our industry. Breaches of these laws or standards, or of the ethical standards of the company is grounds for summary dismissal.

All new Hightide Members are contacted approximately 2 weeks after their purchase by a customer service representative whose sole purpose is to ensure that they fully understand the Hightide system, benefits, terms and conditions.

Company History
In today's hectic world, it is hard to get away for the holiday breaks that we all need.
That is why Hightide focuses on short 'Getaway' breaks at fantastic Resorts which provide great holiday experiences; whether you stay 3 days, or enjoy a longer holiday with family or friends. We work closely with accommodation Resorts from the Northern Territory to Tasmania, Western Australia to New Zealand to provide our members with excellent value-for-money holidays.

We are able to offer these exceptional deals because we sell in high volume, introduce new customers and participate in our Resort's spare 'off-peak' and limited-peak capacity. In most cases, we can help you save hundreds of dollars.

Select from over 215 great Resorts and holiday apartments in favourite locations, generally a short drive from capital cities. Recently, we went Global, offering our members access to up to 1100 holiday properties in 50 countries.

"Hightide" is an independent, Australian business and has been associated with promotions in the holiday accommodation market for more than 10 years. We recently moved to a larger office in Rochedale after being in Underwood for the past 5 years, and have second office in Nundah, a northern Brisbane suburb.
Hightide Holidays is seen as the industry leader in our field.

We are the only one in our field with a certified employment agreement, set up in 2003. Many of our employees have been with us for more than 5 years.

We are recognized by our customers as friendly, helpful and honest. More than 50% of our new customers come from referrals from existing customers!

We are widely respected by the resorts we work with and new resorts chase us to become part of our program.
Hightide continues to work towards being even better.

Comparing other accommodation, last minute & travel agancy websites

Hightide specializes in only holiday accommodation. Over the past 10 years, we have explored Australia and New Zealand and negotiated extremely attractive accommodation deals?. We've visited and know virtually every resort we work with. We encourage our customers to leave their review? after their holiday. Most last-minute and travel websites feature hotel suites. Very few people want a hotel suite when they holiday. Thats why most of the properties we list are Fully Self-Contained?. That generally means they have a kitchen with crockery and cutlery, a full laundry, separate bedroom(s) and parking space. Our rates are excellent! Generally 25-35% less than anywhere else. In many cases, up to 60% less than the resorts regular rate. Check other websites to compare. Most travel sites confuse the comparison by quoting a per person rate. Our rate is for the apartment and up to its stated people capacity (PAX). Our rates are generally available for up to 12 months you can make a booking well in advance. Some restrictions will apply, but they are spelled out. Occassionally, particularly in a very quiet period, a resort may offer a last minute rate below the Hightide rate. This is rare and only for a very limited period. Across the board, we're confident that we beat everyone.

How does Hightide offer such great deals?

  • We've been at it for a long time.
  • We deal directly with, and know, each resort.
  • Hightide has over 100 000 members and close to 150 000 individual customers.
  • In 2006, approximately 35 000 Hightide vouchers were redeemed for holidays.
  • In many cases, Hightide is the largest single source of bookings for the resorts we work with.
